Your electronic interlibrary loan copy

The new COVID-19 Emergency Operation invites you to order electronic copies of journal articles within the Common Library Network interlibrary loan service portfolio free of charge. Please place your interlibrary loan order for copies according to German copyright law via the Common Library Network Union Catalogue. In the context of the COVID-19 Emergency Operation, libraries are allowed to send electronic copies directly to their users until May 31, 2020, which enables us to then send your order to you exclusively by e-mail. Please check and complete your current e-mail address in your interlibrary loan account and in the order form. It remains impossible to provide paper copies or books via interlibrary loan. If you have any questions, please contact us at fernleihe@ub.uni-kiel.de.

Your off-campus access to e-resources

All members of Kiel University have off-campus access to all electronic journals, databases and e-books licensed by the university via VPN. Please note that, for licensing reasons, differing regulations apply for F.A.Z.-BiblioNet. Exceptionally, Juris can be used via VPN until June 15, 2020. Also, exceptionally, Beck-Online and Beck e-Bibliothek can be used via VPN until June 30, 2020 (registration necessary).

Your temporary access to additional e-resources

For all members of Kiel University, some providers and publishers have opened parts of their unlicensed e-resources during the Corona crisis, allowing for temporary access via VPN. Our link list of providers and publishers will be updated continuously as new offers become available.

Your licensing request for e-books

You are a member of Kiel University and need a specific book not yet available here? Please feel free to make a licensing request, so that we can make your requested e-book available to all members of Kiel University immediately via on-campus access. We ask for your understanding that, in view of the total amount of 35,000 Euros for the whole of the university, only a selection of low- and medium-priced titles can be considered.
