Electronic reserved collection

We are supporting digital teaching at the CAU by means of a free scanning service for your electronic reserved collection. We are providing scans of printed texts from the Central Library's collection via the CAU cloud for lecturers at the CAU in the current semester, upon order, within the scope of Article 60a Copyright Act. You can then make these scans available to a closed group of participants in your lectures within your electronic reserved collection in OLAT, or in the CAU cloud.

Please note:

  • This service is aimed to assist digital teaching at the CAU. It is therefore exclusively available to CAU lecturers in the current semester.
  • Only orders from the stacks and open-access inventory at the Central Library on Leibnizstr. 9 and the stacks at Westring can be handled.
  • In accordance with Article 60a Copyright Act, the following can be provided as scans in this way for non-commercial purposes: a maximum of 15% of a publication or small scope works (publications up to 25 pages, images, etc.), individual articles from journals and scientific journals, as well as out of print works. You may use these scans for non-commercial purposes as part of your teaching and only make them available to a closed group of participants in your lectures. It must be made technically impossible for other users to access the material. You can find more detailed information on the statutory provisions here: https://www.bmbf.de/upload_filestore/pub/Handreichung_UrhWissG.pdf

Your order:

  • Please use our order form to place an order.
  • As soon as your scan is ready you will receive an automatically generated e-mail from the CAU cloud informing you that a PDF of your order can be shared via the ID subib079. You will then be able to open or download this PDF.
  • You may use the scan for non-commercial purposes as part of your teaching and only make it available to a closed group of participants in your lectures. It must be made technically impossible for other users to access the material. To ensure this, we recommend setting up a closed group in OLAT or the CAU cloud.
