Access to high-quality information is crucial for successful academic work. In our courses, we show how to use subject-specific databases in a targeted manner, develop search strategies and find relevant literature efficiently. The aim is to strengthen research skills and facilitate the transition to academic information retrieval.


Please note that all courses are in German.

Intro to PubMed

In this course, we introduce the search for medical literature in the PubMed database. We show resources and services for literature supply and procurement, with a focus on journal articles.

Recommended for: Advanced students, doctoral candidates, scientists, doctors and other employees of the university and the university hospital

Intro to Web of Science

Web of Science is an interdisciplinary scientific literature database that links the publications it contains through its citation network. In addition to a search function, citation tracking can be used to identify frequently cited works and authors, as well as follow-up articles. The course will also cover hit analysis and statistical functions in more detail.

Recommended for: All students, doctoral candidates, lecturers and researchers in natural science subjects
