De-registration

JEach library card can be de-registered and library accounts can be deleted.

CAU Students

De-registration from the University Library for exmatriculation is carried out directly by Student Admission and Registry (Studierendenservice) if you

  • do not have any items on loan and
  • do not have any charges payable on your user account.

If you still have items on loan or still have charges to pay, you must visit our service counter prior to exmatriculation and return the items and/or pay the charges. Only then can exmatriculation and discharge be completed by Student Admission and Registry.

Students from Other Universities in Schleswig-Holstein

For your exmatriculation you will need a certificate from your university library stating that you no longer have any books on loan from there and that you have no charges payable there.

If your accounts are clear,

  • bring your de-registration certificate from your University to the service counter or
  • e-mail the completed de-registration form for the Central Library to ausleihdienste@ub.uni-kiel.de (only in PDF file format). We will check your user account and charge account and return the signed de-registration to you by e-mail.

Otherwise, you must first return your borrowed items and/or pay your charges.

De-registrations are only carried out in the Central Library from Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm.
